Vitashine D3® is a natural form of cholecalciferol, from which the body produces the final form of vitamin D3 (calcitriol) that is responsible for many functions (bones, immune system, etc.). Sun exposure only produces cholecalciferol in the skin, which may not always be in sufficient quantities to ensure adequate calcitriol production. Therefore, taking Vitashine D3® is advisable to avoid potential calcitriol deficiency (the MCT coconut oil base enhances its absorption in the digestive tract).
